Maintain your body's Alkalinity to Help keep great Health!
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 3:42PM What is pH?
That is the potential Hydrogen in your body.
Scientists can determine if a liquid is acidic or alkaline by simply testing the pH.
The pH scale ranges from 0-14 with 7 being neutral.
Readings below 7 are acidic and above 7 are alkaline.
A one point decrease on the pH scale indicates that a liquid is 10 times more acidic.
For example soft/soda drinks have an alkalinity of about 2.
This means sodas/soft drinks are 100,000 more acidic to your body than distilled water.
This means your body has to work very very hard to get the body to its blood ph of 7.365.
Our body is a miraculous and complex machine and works to regulate the blood pH a constant 7.365.
If it is lowered by 0.2 we can fall into a coma and could even die.
So the body regulates the pH.
This comes at a COST!
Our body needs to get the right nutrition and water to be able to compensate when we eat or drink acidic foods or drinks!
We need to eat enough properly constituted living food and properly constituted living water.
If we punish our body with excess acid foods like fast processed cooked foods, excessive alcohol and soda/soft drinks, we are putting our bodies at risk for disease and even death!
If the body does not maintain an alkaline environment it has to cannibalise from our bones, teeth, muscled etc to source enough alkaline food to combat the acidity.
This results in osteoporosis, arthritis, broken bones, severe back problems, decaying teeth, heart attack etc etc.
What are the best food to maintain alkalinity?
Fresh,raw organic foods are best.
If you can grow them yourself this is a huge benefit.
The green vegetables are best.
Avoid too much fruit as it becomes sugar in your system and can be acidic to the body.
Fruit that controls acid in your body are: apples, apricots, bananas, blackberries, cherries, grapefruit, grapes, lemons, small amount of oranges, peaches, pears, pineapples, strawberries and watermelon.
Acid Ash Fruit are blueberries, cranberries, plums, and prunes.
Acid Ash foods are bacon,barley grain,beef,wheat and oat bran,white and whole wheat bread,butter,carob,cheese,chicken,cod, corn,corned beef,eggs,lamb,lobster,oysters,peanuts,salmon,shrimp,spaghetti,turkey walnuts,yoghurt.
Cow's milk, prunes and plums leave an alkaline ash but have an acidifying effect on the body.
Diet should be 80% alkali ash and 20% acid ash foods.
Supplementation with trace minerals and vitamins
